JAKE CARLISLE TO MAKE HIS AFL DEBUT FOR ESSENDON FC VS
COLLINGWOOD AT THE MCG 13TH AUGUST 2010
The Craigieburn Football Club is delighted to announce
that former Carlton Full Forward Lance Whitnall has joined the club for
season 2010. Lance will provide a strong marking option up forward and has
the ability to kick a number of goals for our club. In an 11 year career at
Carlton Lance played 216 games, kicked 348 goals and was an All Australian
selection in 2000. We welcome Lance to the mighty Eagles and wish him all
the best.

To Members and Supporters
Season 2010 will be an exciting year for the Club with a great many changes
including the following:
New Coaching Panels headed by Paul Barnard
Move to Highgate Ovals
Trail of New Jumper for Seniors and Under 16 Division 1 Team
Community Club Project incorporating new Codes of Conduct
Community partnership with Richmond and Coburg Football Clubs
Sister Club arrangement established with West Coast Eagles
The move to Highgate Ovals will mean that the Senior teams ( Seniors,
Reserves and Under 18’s) will play 7 out of the 9 home games at Highgate No
1 Oval and the Club will have access to the Pavilion – Social Rooms for each
of its home games.
The Senior teams will always train at D.S.Aitken Reserve every Thursday
night where everyone is welcome to come and watch the training and come back
to the Social rooms to hear the teams announced.
The Junior teams will use Highgate No 2 Oval as its main playing base with
the Pavilion for this Oval to be completed June/July 2010.
The Club will be trialling a new jumper based upon the West Coast Eagles new
clash strip ( see attached ) or go to the website. The new strip will be
worn be the Senior team and the Under 16 Division 1 teams so both sections
of the Club will be able to have a look at the design.
A
meeting will be held later in the year to receive feedback on the design and
discuss the future club jumper.
The Club has committed to a Community Club Project incorporating new Codes
of Conduct and presentations to players and parents at all levels through
the Club. Further details will be provided at meetings to be held during the
year. The EDFL has produced a video on this project which can be viewed by
going to the website:
www.essendondfl.com.au
The
Club is working with Richmond and Coburg Football Clubs in a number of
community initiatives. These Clubs are supporting the round robin Primary
Schools competition which is organised by the Craigieburn Football Club.
This competition will be held on Monday 19th April at Highgate
from 9.30am to 3pm.
The Club has established a sister club relationship with the West Coast
Eagles which will give the Club access to WCE expertise in Club management,
communications and items of WCE memorabilia. The Club has meet with senior
WCE officials including CEO Trevor Nesbitt who confirms WCE’s commitment to
help our Club become more professional. Further details on these
arrangements will be reported on during the year.
The Club will be doing a monthly report ( mid month ) on the website with
updates on these and other developments and activities.
